WINNING THE ADOBE 6-MONTH SOFTWARE DRAWING
Each active Adobe Users Group is allowed to award a software program supplied by Adobe every six months. The product is selected by the winner, for a value of up to $2100. Each user group can make up its own criteria for awarding this software. The TAG group is using a combination of points and a raffle. This is the criteria for winning the software:
The software winner must be a current member of the TAG group (that means, since there are no membership dues, setting up an account on the TAG website). Winning the software makes you ineligible to win the software for the next drawing. To be eligible for the software drawing you must have at least 4 points accumulated by the meeting when the drawing is done. Points can be earned by attending meetings, and also by contributing to the group in other ways, as indicated below.
1 - Attendance at a given monthly meeting - 1 point
2 - Sharing a 3-5 minute tip on some topic/feature at a meeting - 1 point
3 - Giving a presentation to the group - 4 points
4 - Provide a handout for the presentation for posting to TAG website - 1 point
5 - Writing a review of a book, video, or application and posting to the TAG website - 3 points - This does not have to a book or video in the TAG library. Instructions for reviewing a book from O'Reilly are at ug.oreilly.com/bookreviews.html Books from O'Reilly and PeachPit Press have to be posted to our site as well as the O'Reilly site and Amazon site. 6 - Creating a tutorial on some topic that we then link to from the website - 3 points. This could be a special video you have created or a special handout you are willing to share with members.
7 - Member of the Steering Committee - 3 points
8 - Participation in a panel presentation for a monthly meeting - 2 points
9 - Recruiting a speaker for a meeting - 1 point
10 - Providing a recommended resource link to add to the resources page - 1 point
11 - Recruiting three new members to TAG - 1 point. These people must sign up on the TAG website, and you need to send an email to Iris Yoffa (irisonthego@gmail.com) after these people have signed up on the website.
After accumulating 4 points, you will receive one ticket for the software drawing. Any additional points for that semester will give you an additional ticket. Then, like before, the name of the winner will be drawn from the group of tickets for that particular 6 month period. We have one drawing for the January-June time period and one for the July-December time period. People who choose to only attend sessions, if they attend four meetings before the drawing, would earn a ticket and have a chance to win the software. However, the more you participate and contribute to the group, the better your chances of winning the software.
