Steering Committee members are volunteers who receive at present no monetary compensation from Adobe. Not all Adobe User Groups have a steering committee, but the Tucson group went this route to broaden input for decisions and share time commitments for running a group among more people.
Steering Committee members serve for one year (from June through May). Steering committee members are, currently, nominated by existing members when we notice someone who is regularly going beyond being a consumer of the information we provide; this includes, among other things, volunteering to speak, writing reviews, contributing content to the site, and helping out at the meetings they attend.
